Americans are not stupid

People often make the mistake of thinking or saying that Americans are stupid. Democrats have been particularly vocal about their disdain for Americans – especially middle America. Americans are not stupid. That implies they’re not capable of information intake and analysis. It’s not even close to true. Americans simply weren’t paying attention. People have their own lives. They have families, jobs, school, events, hobbies. Not everyone follows politics. Not everyone seeks out information. Not everyone even follows the news, other than what they hear from friends. There’s nothing wrong with that. Here’s the good news. They’re paying attention now….

Why conservatives can attract Democrat voters

Often in Bubbler posts, I talk about how easy it would be to attract Democrat voters. Here’s why… If you’re a conservative, and you understand that you are a conservative, then surely you know people – friends, relatives, coworkers – who live their lives as conservatives but think they’re Democrats. They believe in personal responsibility, accountability, treating everyone as equals, hard work, earning your way, contributing to society, free speech, common sense, and pragmatic solutions to problems. When they talk about issues, they sound conservative. But then you come to find out they vote for Democrats. There’s a very…

Branding the Democrats

For as long as I’ve been alive, the Democrats have been on offense, defining and branding the Republican Party as a home for wealthy, hate-filled, white male white supremacist racists, sexists, homophobes, and xenophobes. They had to change it a bit with the election of Trump – switching “wealthy” with “redneck.” The Republican Party, home of the worst marketing department in the history of marketing, lies down and takes it, barely mustering a half-hearted “we are not,” every once in awhile. Always on defense and five steps behind, the Republicans always respond by presenting a logical argument illustrating why…

An honest assessment of Trump

In my business, I always tell my staff that we have to be our harshest critics. We have to pick apart every aspect of our operation and how we do everything, because better we do it and make the necessary adjustments than we release a product or perform a service and receive that harsh feedback from a customer. The same is true of President Trump. He was our President for four years, and could be again. Some conservatives morphed to NeverTrumpers while others believe he walks on water. The answer, of course, is somewhere in the middle. The Bubbler…

The legacy of MLK

Consider one of Martin Luther King, Jr’s most well-known “dreams”: One day we will judge a man not by the color of his skin, but by the content of his character. It’s easy to see where we are now. As far as opportunity and voice in society, the black community has never had it better in the United States. If you look worldwide, they’ve got it better than blacks anywhere else on the earth. That is not to say there aren’t issues, but they’re nowhere near like the Democrats would have you believe. There isn’t white supremacy lurking around…

The perfect analogy

I recently wrote a post arguing that “white supremacy” is nothing more than a strategy to dehumanize conservatives to justify canceling them. At the end, I made an analogy that has received such a strong reaction, I decided to make it its own post… “I’m saying that one of our largest problems in this country is coming down to a guy in a bar walking up to another guy and saying, “hey, you see that guy sitting in the corner? He just called you an ‘asshole.’ What’re you gonna do about it?” The guy who thinks he’s been called…

Conservative double standard

Democrats are clearly bringing communism to the United States, and from that, we can only conclude that they don’t like the American system, as founded. As conservatives, can we really complain about their approach? We all agree the Republican Party is entirely worthless, but we still keep trying to wrestle it to the ground and make it serve the conservative movement. In fact, we’ve been trying for decades. Why would we get mad about Democrats trying to remake our country from scratch when that’s exactly what we’re trying to do with a useless Republican Party? Hopefully, the Democrats will…

Can we be done celebrating diversity?

There’s no shortage of national lament about how divided our country has become. People are struggling to find common ground and instead are trying to figure out where we go from here. Shouldn’t we be celebrating these differences? What do people expect after years of being told that we have all these differences to be celebrated? What do you think people will conclude when we tell them that because our skin color is different, we have nothing in common, and we should celebrate that? Are we really surprised that we’re so focused on our differences after being bludgeoned with…

Racism is taught

When children learn, it’s the only thing they know. Think about that. It may sound obvious, but the difference between child learning and adult learning is that adults have 20 years of filters and perspectives built up that informs how they take in this new information. Meanwhile, when children learn, they have little previous information against which to compare the new. So when they take in new information, often it’s all they know. That becomes the foundation upon which all other learning rests. When children grow up in an environment in which physical characteristics are not openly called out,…

So? What now?

So, the Republican Party is dead. It has become synonymous with racism and bigotry, and there’s no way to save it (at least not in the next two years). The Republican brand is dead. Now what? As any conservative who believes in creative destruction will tell you, this is great news and the perfect opportunity to create a party centered on freedom and liberty that truly seeks to make America great. Anything is possible, so this is no time to limit our thinking. We can win back this country, and it can, and should be peaceful. The Democrats took…
