Everything was by the book, so what’s the problem?

This week, I stayed at a hotel that advertising having a refrigerator in every room. It wasn’t the only reason I selected this hotel, but it was among them, since I had some goods that would need refrigeration. When I got to the room, I found it did, indeed, have a refrigerator. It was completely full of cans of soda and bottles of various waters. Each was in a mechanism that would track if it was removed from the refrigerator. I had several bottles of my own and a bag of food that would have fit in the refrigerator,…

GOP has no one to blame but themselves

The GOP’s inability to effectively respond to the raid on Trump’s home in Mar-a-lago is nothing more than a complete marketing failure. There is no purpose or unity in Republican marketing because there is no marketing department with a strategy and a message. Republicans are all out there saying whatever they think (and, being Republicans, there’s a lot of independent thought out there to corral), with no unity or strategy, or not saying anything at all. This story requires a coordinated offensive – especially because they don’t have any media or cultural support to amplify their message. Democrats have…

The Republican marketing problem in one picture

As I’ve written many times, the Republican brand, thanks to Democrat marketing (and a complete absence of Republican marketing) is synonymous with racism, hate, ignorance, violence, and misinformation. Check out this screenshot from Bumble, a dating app in which women “make the first move.” This woman wrote that she won’t date anyone who smokes or has bad hygiene. But more importantly, she equated Trump supporters – Republicans, with “hate, racism, ignorance, violence, and misinformation.” This supports my premise that there are many conservatives out there who vote for Democrats because they figure, they’re not racist or homophobic or sexist,…

Let me help some of you with the Dobbs abortion decision

If the Supreme Court wanted to tell women what to do with their bodies, they’d mandate they stop having unprotected sex before marriage. They wouldn’t wait until they needed an abortion to tell them they can’t have one. Or, another option: The Supreme Court isn’t interested in telling women what they can and can’t do at all. They may just be ruling based on the Constitution.

It’s about election security

The 2020 presidential election is over. Many believe it was stolen. I agree, though not in the ways many are saying, as I’ve written before. But it’s over. It’s not going to be reversed, and there are probably very few people who might change their opinion on it, no matter what they hear or what proof they’re offered. Certainly, we should learn from what happened to ensure it can’t be repeated, but that brings me to the point: Conservatives should be talking about future election security, not past potential election compromise. If everyone is interested in fairness and allowing…

Imitation and the Constitution

The United States Constitution was the first of its kind, bringing about an entirely different perspective on the role of government. One of it’s most revolutionary features was the concept of negative rights. It clearly articulates what the government cannot do to citizens. It can’t silence you. It can’t take away your guns. They can’t just show up and search through your home, and you can’t just be put away in jail without a speedy trial (unless you were involved in the “insurrection”). Though probably the most critical concept is that human rights come from God, or a higher…
