I think people have this view of 2020 entirely backward. If we learned anything this year, it should be that times were always uncertain. There is never certainty. Nothing is ever predictable. Lately, I’ve noticed more and more people around me – especially those younger (which is an increasingly large number of people) – are using the phrase “I feel like…” when they start describing their opinion or assessment of a situation. Where did this idea of “black lives matter” or “all lives matter” begin? Who would even think to say it. One of the foundational elements of America is that life is precious.
