In my business, I always tell my staff that we have to be our harshest critics. We have to pick apart every aspect of our operation and how we do everything, because better we do it and make the necessary adjustments than we release a product or perform a service and receive that harsh feedback from a customer. The same is true of President Trump. He was our President for four years, and could be again. Some conservatives morphed to NeverTrumpers while others believe he walks on water. The answer, of course, is somewhere in the middle. The Bubbler…
Can we be done celebrating diversity?
There’s no shortage of national lament about how divided our country has become. People are struggling to find common ground and instead are trying to figure out where we go from here. Shouldn’t we be celebrating these differences? What do people expect after years of being told that we have all these differences to be celebrated? What do you think people will conclude when we tell them that because our skin color is different, we have nothing in common, and we should celebrate that? Are we really surprised that we’re so focused on our differences after being bludgeoned with…
Priorities: a 2021 to-do list
For conservatives, and therefore, the country, there’s a lot of work to be done to get the United States back on track to being a functioning republic. But there are two that far outweigh the rest: We must restore election integrity We have to destroy the current corporate, foreign-owned, mainstream media complex Without election integrity, nothing else matters. By and large, conservatives don’t protest. They don’t riot, harass, bully, or vandalize. What they do is engage in the established civic process and then wait to vote. If voting becomes meaningless and can’t be trusted, conservatives won’t just stop and…
Appreciating our immigrants
If you’ve ever moved from one state or city to another, or even from one apartment to another, you know what a fairly large undertaking it is. Consider if you were deciding whether or not to leave your home country for another. Those who live in poverty, socialism, communism, or a country rife with government corruption undertake a huge decision and effort when deciding to flee for the United States. There’s been an ongoing debate about immigration – legal and illegal – and how to handle people coming to this country. There are many strong opinions, and one could…
The cause is eternal
As we head into the Georgia Senate runoff elections and the January 6th objections to the electoral certification, I think it’s critical that everyone remember this reality: President Trump is temporary. The conservative cause is eternal. Listening to many diehard Trump supporters over the last few years – and there are many, to be sure – I was sometimes concerned that we had crossed over a bit into a cult of personality. President Trump did an amazing thing by waking up many Americans who had otherwise felt, rightfully so, disenfranchised from the political process, as well as elected and…
COVID stimulus: an open economy
Meanwhile, while our government was debating how much of the money they took from us they should give back, a better idea went ignored the self-professed elite among us: Open the entire economy today. Instead of our masters determining how much of our money they’ll let us have, why not open the economy and allow us to make our own money. In fact, we can do both. With freedom as our guide, those who want to open their shops and restaurants and businesses will be welcomed and encouraged to do so. But if they don’t, they can get a…
$600 for everybody? Why?
$2000. $600. Everyone is concerned about the amount of our money Congress is debating giving back to us in the name of COVID relief. Obviously, the real answer is to stop the lockdowns and open the entire economy. But short of that, I’m wondering why I’ve not heard one person wonder why we’re all going to receive a check. Many Americans, like myself, have been very blessed to have jobs that are allowing us to work from home as they’ve shut down much of the economy. Not only have I been receiving the same salary since this started, but…
Republicans aren’t assholes, which is the problem
I found my self watching the season two DVD set of Saturday Night Live, when I looked at the photo booklet that accompanied the set. In the booklet, there’s a picture of a note from Lily Tomlin which said: “Don’t be timidDon’t be non-descriptBe assholes” And that sums up what the Republican Party has been since I’ve been aware of it. The Republican Party is timid. They are nondescript. And the second one is really the key. That they are nondescript. In absence of taking any sort of stand and showing any conviction at all, the Republican Party, and…
Evidence means nothing
This is where we are as a nation. With endless evidence sitting in front of our faces, way too many people don’t have the interpretive or critical thinking skills necessary to draw the correct, or any conclusions, from them. Cities like Detroit, Chicago, Seattle, or San Francisco, are unlivable hellholes, and they’ve been run by Democrats for decades, yet we continue to vote them back in. There are states in which students are back in school and playing out their sport seasons with no deaths, but other states seem to be unaware that demonstrably safe. The Republican Party has…
The pressure of control
Leftists get into trouble because of their desire for control. When someone is always telling everyone else what to do and how to live, that person’s going to be under intense, microscopic scrutiny to follow the demands they’re making of everyone else. And well, they should be. Of course people would start calculating the energy consumption of Al Gore’s mansion after he’s spent so much time talking about “the inconvenient truth.” I remember in the 90s when someone went out of their way to find out and publicize that the tables at some conference he was publicizing came from…
