Women: no longer such a big deal

It’s not uncommon to see in the news, especially if you follow a LinkedIn news feed, stories about women breaking new ground or being the first to do this or that. There was definitely a time when it was more unusual for women to be doing various things like piloting commercial airplanes or playing professional sports. But that was a while ago. 30 years ago, I was one of three men in a 30 person marketing class. Throughout my career, I’ve worked with, or for, women at every level. In my lifetime, it’s just been normal. I appreciate that…

The importance of white supremacy

White supremacy is a critical component of our march toward communism. Without white supremacy, the left would not have been able to dehumanize conservatives as effectively as they have. It was critical to dehumanize conservatives because it was the only way to sell abolishing the First Amendment. Sure, on it’s face the idea that we should have freedom of speech sounds alright. But when you define half the country as so evil, immoral, and irredeemable as conservatives, we can’t afford to let them speak their vile ideas out loud, lest others start agreeing with them. Conservatives are so racist,…

Who is the swamp?

Like all conservatives, President Trump’s biggest problem was the inability, or lack of awareness, to explain what conservatism is and what he means when he says things like “the swamp” or “deep state.” That’s why The Bubbler exists. After watching for more than 30 years conservatives miss opportunity after opportunity to teach conservatism and explain the philosophy to people, I finally took to the internet. As usual, President Trump got halfway there. In talking about “the swamp,” he was correctly identifying the real enemy and was scratching the surface on starting to defeat them. But he didn’t go far…

How to tell one’s ideology

If you’re looking for a way to tell if you’re speaking with a conservative or a leftist, here’s an easy exercise. Disagree with them. It doesn’t have to be about anything political. In fact, it’s a better exercise if you don’t. Disagree with them on what they want to do today, or tell them you don’t like a food they really like… or a movie. It could be anything. Just take a stand and disagree with them on something they say. If the person’s a conservative, they’ll want to hear what you have to say. They’ll be interested in…

The title doesn’t make you an expert

By trusting and putting all of our faith in experts, we’re removing any responsibility we have ourselves to put in the work, do our own research, verify information, and make decisions for ourselves. We’re also taking it on faith that they don’t have any personal motivations guiding their dictates and behaviors. We’re assuming their professions are absolute, that there are no choices to be made, and that they act according to some manual the rest of us cannot access. All one need to is look no further than their own profession. Whether you’re a doctor, a lawyer, a marketer,…

The greatest tweet of 2020

It’s a bit of an understatement to say a lot has happened in 2020. But with all of the strange twists and unexpected events, the greatest, and perhaps most important tweet of the year was just sent: Or so I thought. I considered this the most important because a very high profile person contracted COVID, survived it, and wrote this key idea: “Don’t be afraid of Covid. Don’t let it dominate your life.” But then I saw another, more important tweet, a little bit later: On COVID: “Don’t let it dominate you. Don’t be afraid of it. Don’t let…

Imagine switching ideologies

Imagine if you were are a long-time, hardcore liberal, and you decided to switch to conservative. Or, think about if you were a conservative all your life, and made the decision to become a liberal. What would you have to do? What mental adjustments would you have to make to complete the transformation? If you were a liberal, and you wanted to be conservative, there would be some heavy lifting. First, you’d have to get angry. Very angry. All the time. About everything. You’d have to really start listening to every word anyone said to you and watching for…

What are conservatives so afraid of?

We’ve never done this before at The Bubbler, and I’m not sure we’ll ever do it again, but today’s entry is a repost of an article that originally appeared on the American Greatness website on August 28 called “A Tyranny Perpetual and Universal?” by Michael Anton. It is one of the clearest and best articulations I’ve seen of why conservatives are so concerned about the 2020 election and the ramifications of Trump losing. It’s so important, that we decided to reprint it here. Also, American Greatness recently redesigned their website, and the user experience of this article appears to…

What the hell are we doing? Time to get back to work!

I was speaking with a tax professional today, and we were talking about all of her clients. She was telling me tales of real people who had saved up to start businesses that are now gone. She was recounting those who made investments in their business that will probably not come to fruition before the money runs out. We shut down the government out of fear that the coronavirus would ravage the country and kill… what? Thousands? Hundreds of thousands? Millions? Who knows? It was all based on projections made before we knew hardly anything about it? But what…

Lockdown is just kicking the can down the road

It is not at all unusual for politicians to kick the can down the road. How many times have we heard our congressional representatives unveil plans that will make social security solvent in 2034, relieve on our dependence on oil by 2045, balance our budget by 2027, stop the oceans from rising by 2038, etcetera, etcetera… And the great irony of this approach? They always assume things will be static, just like they are today, when the coronavirus pandemic, and subsequent reaction, should teach us just the opposite. Consider our plan to confront this pandemic. We decided to lock…
