I would think Democrats would be extremely conflicted right now. On one hand, as champions of the “little guy,” they’ve got to be wringing hands and gnashing teeth that our current lockdowns are ruining people’s livelihoods and leaving a wake of middle class, “little guy,” Americans without a job and seeking unemployment. Then again, the “little guy” was always too stupid to take care of himself, anyway. So perhaps they are championing the little guy by keeping him unemployed and giving him $2,000 for the rest of his life. (Because as we know, when Democrats take care of the…
The goal of reopening is not to stop the virus
Our mainstream news media outlets and top Democrats (but I repeat myself) are rushing to make comments about how many people are dying in the states that are reopening. Well, of course. The virus isn’t just going to go away. In fact, it’s here to stay. Like the vast majority of viruses that coexist with us on this planet, they’re not going anywhere, and we have to learn to live with them. And learn, we do. Often times, we build immunity to them by catching them and developing antibodies. Some of us get the virus and are completely unaware…
What we should have learned from the zoo
It’s only Wednesday, and in the past three days, I’ve heard four separate stories about people who made the deliberate decision not to go to work because they’re making more through the COVID unemployment than they would if they went to work. There was plenty of concern about this in conservative news outlets. Why work for $100 when someone is going to come along and give you $200? As usual, the worst marketing department in the history of marketing departments (that would be the Republican Party’s marketing department) is completely missing the opportunity to teach on this. First off,…
One of the fundamental differences between liberals and conservatives
Yesterday, I noticed California Representative Eric Swalwell liked this tweet from Michael Skolnik: The question. The chosen image. The participation. They all illustrate one of the fundamental differences between conservatives and liberals. Conservatives understand that people are fundamentally flawed. That when we say people are capable of anything, we mean anything – good or bad. The Founding Fathers understood that people are not angels and cannot be trusted with unchecked power. That is why they structured the government with checks and balances – dividing power three ways. Liberals, however, have a very different view. They believe that some people,…
The Democrat’s Limbaugh miscalculation
We can’t know what’s in the hearts and minds of another, but I think there’s plenty of evidence to strongly suggest the Blue State, or Democrat governors, are continuing their state lockdowns in the interests of furthering the economic pain. Why would they do this? Because, as we discussed yesterday, the Democrat Party is unified in everything they do. And their number one goal remains to remove and destroy Donald Trump, by any means necessary, as soon as possible. Unfortunately for them, they made one big miscalculation. By making everyone stay home – whether they’re working from home or…
A word to Airpod users
We’re in the age of Airpods. Since we’re no longer interacting in person, we find ourselves in a continual state of Zoom or phone conversations. As a result, I’ve had more exposure to Airpods than I ever thought possible. Airpods are great. Don’t get me wrong. They block sound, the speakers are great, and the mic is outta sight. Especially the mic. In fact, they’re so good, I wanted to share one piece of advice to those who use Airpods: Can you please stop eating or drinking when you’re having a conversation over Airpods. Especially drinking. When you swallow,…
Assigning protestors
Every day, more and more people are turning out to protest state lockdown orders. People can see what’s happening around them. As much as the media keeps their running death toll in our faces, people know that the real patient is our country, and we’re on life support. As people turn out, the media and Democrats, continually refer to these people as “Trump supporters.” The intent is to make them look like country rubes who are too stupid to realize how much danger they’re in by not locking down. What the media Democrats aren’t realizing is that many of…
Big sunflower is taking it on the chin
With Major League Baseball shut down, I’ll bet big sunflower is taking a huge hit. In fact, I’m guessing big bubble gum is in even more dire straits. If you’ve ever seen the sheer quantity of gum, candy, sunflower seeds, and other small pack chewables that get delivered to major league baseball fields during the season, you’d know this has to be a significant hit on all of those businesses. While most of the baseball players can probably take this hit, I’m guessing many of the people who work in and around the stadiums of professional sports are facing…
We all count, but we’re not all essential
Earlier today, I was walking around the neighborhood and saw a Census 2020 poster with their slogan: “We all count.” My guess is this campaign was conceived before the coronavirus pandemic, because we’ve since learned we’re not all essential. In fact, I believe, speaking of counting, that we’ve determined 36 million Americans don’t count. That’s the number of Americans who’ve lost their job since the start of the lockdown. That number coincides with the workers who’ve been told by their governors that they are “non-essential.” Not surprisingly, the Census, a government-run organization, will learn, when the counting is over,…
