When groupthink is an advantage

One of the hallmarks of liberalism is groupthink. You don’t hear much disagreement or dissension amongst liberals because they all read from the same script, get their instructions from the same playbook, and expect everyone else to do the same. It is no secret the Democrats own the mainstream media, culture, and public schools. No matter where you turn in America, you can’t avoid the Democrat message of the day. If they decide Trump said everyone must ingest disinfectants, there will be one press release written, and every news outlet, politician, and celebrity will echo it. If a black…

A word to Airpod users

We’re in the age of Airpods. Since we’re no longer interacting in person, we find ourselves in a continual state of Zoom or phone conversations. As a result, I’ve had more exposure to Airpods than I ever thought possible. Airpods are great. Don’t get me wrong. They block sound, the speakers are great, and the mic is outta sight. Especially the mic. In fact, they’re so good, I wanted to share one piece of advice to those who use Airpods: Can you please stop eating or drinking when you’re having a conversation over Airpods. Especially drinking. When you swallow,…

Assigning protestors

Every day, more and more people are turning out to protest state lockdown orders. People can see what’s happening around them. As much as the media keeps their running death toll in our faces, people know that the real patient is our country, and we’re on life support. As people turn out, the media and Democrats, continually refer to these people as “Trump supporters.” The intent is to make them look like country rubes who are too stupid to realize how much danger they’re in by not locking down. What the media Democrats aren’t realizing is that many of…

We all count, but we’re not all essential

Earlier today, I was walking around the neighborhood and saw a Census 2020 poster with their slogan: “We all count.” My guess is this campaign was conceived before the coronavirus pandemic, because we’ve since learned we’re not all essential. In fact, I believe, speaking of counting, that we’ve determined 36 million Americans don’t count. That’s the number of Americans who’ve lost their job since the start of the lockdown. That number coincides with the workers who’ve been told by their governors that they are “non-essential.” Not surprisingly, the Census, a government-run organization, will learn, when the counting is over,…

When is an economy a President’s economy?

Man, being a Democrat must just get harder and harder all the time. It’s no secret the Democrat Party goal of the last four years has been to remove Donald Trump from office, no matter how great the barrier or how untoward the act necessary to get it done. But some of the things Democrats are saying in public these days are truly amazing, if you’re paying attention. It’s been well-covered that one of the first things President Trump did when we started to understand the coronavirus outbreak was to shut down travel from China. When he did, Democrats…

Lessons from Mom

Today is Mother’s Day, and I can’t help but reflect on how valuable my own mother has been in shaping the person I am today. Growing old is fun and interesting in so many ways. One way is how the way you start seeing your parents changes. As you get older, you stop seeing them as parents, and start seeing them for the people they are, and the people they were. You start to wonder what they were really like when you were only seeing the “parent” side of them. You start to wonder how they would fit into…

Fear of loss is a greater loss

I was watching episode five of Ricky Gervais’ brilliant season two of After Life last night. In it, they meet a man who can’t see very well and, as a result, had been putting all of his outgoing post in a red dog waste receptacle that looked much like a post box. As the discussion is ending, Ricky Gervais’ character, Tony, asks him about his relationships. The man said that he didn’t want to be in a relationship because it might end. The reaction was one of disbelief mixed with sadness as Tony wonders allowed, “Imagine never having a…

The real shame about Tara Reade

When Brett Kavanaugh was accused of a rape from nearly 30 years ago, we were told by all Democrats, again and again and again, that we had to believe all women who came forward with such allegations. The story was arguably the biggest, most watched story of 2018. It was televised in gyms, stores, and restaurants. People who don’t usually follow politics were glued to the proceedings. But, as usual, Democrats overplayed their hand, and went way overboard in their efforts to destroy Kavanaugh. Before long, it became obvious to people who don’t really follow these things that Democrats…

Abortion on the beaches – unraveling the hypocrisy

This weekend, I read a comment somewhere that said, about liberals criticizing those who chose to go to the beach, “I thought it was my choice to do what I want with my body.” At first glance, this appears to be just another clever observation in a long line of examples exposing liberal hypocrisy. But then, when it comes to abortion, I’ve always wondered about the conservatives and liberal stances on this. I thought it contradictory that conservatives wanted the government to make the rules on abortion and liberals to not want the government involved when, in nearly every…

Our plan to save hospitals is destroying them

Everything we’re doing right now with this lockdown was designed to “flatten the curve.” The intent was to hold off the virus spread so hospitals could get ready for the surge of new patients. Well, I think they’re ready. In fact, I think they’re moving past ready and firmly into closing down territory. Hospitals all over the country are sitting far emptier than they’ve ever been as staff lose their jobs due to inactivity. In other words, there are no patients. There are nowhere near the projected coronavirus patients. But more importantly, there are also no elective surgeries, no…
